This is what happens when Goths and Health & Safety regulations collide in West Yorkshire. A peculiarly English story, particularly in the phrase, "We had our bus passes."
Once you've read that, check out the `BBC: Goth Lifestyle' link under `Related Links.' Funny and informative, all at the same time.

You couldn't make this sort of stuff up, could you?

Yeah, okay, I get it, I get it.
Actually, looking at the photo, Dewsbury has become much more interesting since the last time I was there.

Subject: Safety???
I fail to see the safety issue here, and suspect that it was used as an excuse for prejudice. If a blind person with a guide dog (or indeed a deaf person with a hearing dog) boarded a bus, I'm betting they would have no trouble at all, and wouldn't be required to remove the dog's lead.

I agree. And hopefully that's the line our Gothic friends will take. It probably won't work because the bus company will say, well, she's not a dog. But it might make the company look even more stupid than they do now.

*chortle*
But I do have a bone to pick with the article. It doesn't mention the Cruxshadows! True, it's eight years old, but they've been at DragonCon since the mid 1990s.
Which always raises the spectre of what Goths become once they reach serious middle age. Much as I respect the lady, one cannot say Storm Constantine's personal style has weathered well.
Hugs and smiles,

What I always wonder when I hear the phrase `...is the new black' is, what was wrong with the old black? Not black enough? We should start a campaign. Sod The New Black; We Want The Old Black.

Nuh-uh. The new black is always better than the old black. Fewer bloodstains, for one thins.
Hugs and grins,
Jean Marie

Actually, I believe this may be the local newspaper story which the nationals picked up.
