I'm more annoyed than I can tell you that 200 people complained about a Heinz Deli Mayo ad which featured a quick kiss between two men, and even more annoyed that because of the complaints, Heinz has withdrawn the ad. Dear God, what's wrong with us? In the name of humanity, the ad is funny, and the kiss is part of the joke. The ad can't be shown around kids' programming anyway because the product is so high in fat, salt and sugar it would be in breach of broadcasting guidelines, so what's the problem? And even if the ad wasn't funny and the kiss wasn't a joke, so what?

I haven't seen the ad here in the states, but I'll wager it will never get shown. But it's okay to market high fat and simple carbo meals to everyone, along with narrow-mindedness! Bah.

I can't see it airing in the US, either. Ever. Even in California and the other state that legalised same-sex marriages recently which I can't remember. But as you and artykat point out quite rightly, it's okay to promote a heart attack on a plate in an ad. As it is here, in fact.
