I'm more annoyed than I can tell you that 200 people complained about a Heinz Deli Mayo ad which featured a quick kiss between two men, and even more annoyed that because of the complaints, Heinz has withdrawn the ad. Dear God, what's wrong with us? In the name of humanity, the ad is funny, and the kiss is part of the joke. The ad can't be shown around kids' programming anyway because the product is so high in fat, salt and sugar it would be in breach of broadcasting guidelines, so what's the problem? And even if the ad wasn't funny and the kiss wasn't a joke, so what?

and if they actually watched the advert the 'deli chef' character is Mum, who just _appears_ to be a man...

Not only that, she appears to be Tony Soprano. That's my whole point. It's ludicrous. It's funny. And as the article points out, because it was promoting a certain kind of food it wouldn't have aired during the period when kids were most likely to be watching telly. I suspect the people who complained about this ad were among the people who complained about Jerry Springer - The Opera. Usually without having watched it.
