It's great fun. I adore musicals and Josh Whedon and Neil Patrick Harris and soggy mail.

Yeah, everyone seems to be mentioning Nathan Fillion (and not without reason) but I'm surprised more people aren't bigging up the mighty Mister Harris, who has a surprisingly fine voice. I love the songs, and I love the fact that the best sidekick Dr Horrible could manage is a villain called Moist.

A few months ago, we viewed a concert version of Sweeney Todd in which Neil Patrick Harris sang the role of Toby. It was exquisite.

I didn't know he'd done musical theatre. He really is very good, isn't he?

Love it, love it, love it! Moist is great -- "do you needc me to dampen anything?" And I love Mister Harris' voice and acting. He's funny!

Who is the girl?

I have to say I have a certain amount of fellow-feeling for Moist - surely one of the most pathetic supervillain sidekicks in history.
I first encountered Neil Patrick Harris - like everyone else, and he's probably sick of it by now - in Doogie Howser MD, but I didn't realise he was marked for greatness until I saw him in Starship Troopers. There's a scene towards the end where he does some very interesting stuff.
The girl is Felicia Day, who appeared in Buffy and is a writer of no small talent herself. For what is basically a home movie, Dr Horrible is a wonderful thing. And the songs are gorgeous.

Seeing as I'm not a Joss Whedon fan, I didn't bother with Dr Horrible until I read your post last night. But then I thought, "Why not?" I'm glad I did. It's a hoot, isn't it! Patrick Harris is brilliant.

I'll be back there for Act III tomorrow.

I suppose, in the great scheme of things, I'm not a Joss fan either. I never quite cottoned to Buffy, and Angel left me cold. I am, however, a stupendous fan of Firefly and Serenity, so I'll always check out something Whedon has done. Particularly the weird fringe stuff, like this. I'll be there for Episode Three, too.

Just saw Episode III -- Well done, Joss, Jed, and Maurissa!

Joss Whedon's niece is a friend of the guy who lives in the loft in our garage. I feel so-6-degrees-of-separation proud.

Thanks for telling us about it, Dave.

You're most welcome. I just watched Episode 3, too. Very nice work by everyone involved. Loved it. So, I have a Whedon Score of four, huh? Small world.

I particularly liked that the League of Evil characters were so intriguingly presented and the credits listed them with interesting names -- False Thomas Jefferson and Snake Bite. Does one smell sequel?

I'm not a hundred percent certain, because I haven't checked, but I believe Dr Horrible, Captain Hammer and the Evil League Of Evil may be characters in a comic book series Joss Whedon (and members of his extended family and all his friends and acquaintances) has been writing for a while now. So really the credit list isn't so much setting up a sequel as a textual reference. I think.
