I took a break from the hoovering to have a bit of lunch today and sit down to watch the news and I was watching Sky News and they were interviewing the political editor of the News Of The World about Gordon's most recent travails. This was a bit of a shock; I've been in the business almost a quarter of a century now and this was the first time I heard the NoW had a political editor. For those of you not familiar with the NoW, it's sort of akin to discovering that the National Enquirer has an economics editor.

I can't imagine the Sunday Sport having a science editor. I mean, allegedly mainstream newspapers do such a poor job already, the SS's qualifications for their writer would be "Must have GCSE science and be able to read and write."

Hang on, when did the ability to write become a requirement on the Sport?
