I'm not sure whether pds_lit managed to see this before it was tucked away into the depths of the BBC website, but every year since 1978 The Bookseller magazine has been awarding a prize to the oddest book title it comes across. Down the years, the Diagram Prize has been won by such august tomes as Oral Sadism And The Vegetarian Personality, The Big Book Of Lesbian Horse Stories, and How To Avoid Huge Ships. This year's prize has just been awarded to Derek Willans's 1996 book Greek Rural Postmen and Their Cancellation Numbers.
More here. And surely to god there's room in the Vortex Of WeirdTM for at least a couple of these...?

It's true. Many's the time our Greek postman has delivered a padded envelope to us and it's turned out to contain almost a hundred fully-armed hoplites.
