I'm sick of the American Presidential election. I'm sick of the mud-slinging and the sniggering behind hands and the second-guessing and the conspiracy theories and the media x-rays and the endless fucking pundits who actually haven't the first idea what they're talking about and don't care so long as they pander to the political bias of their audience.
Henceforth, if I refer to them at all, I will be referring to the candidates as `Binky' and `Bumpy,' and their running-mates as `Sid' and `Rosebud.' I don't care which combination of them gets elected, or indeed whether any of them gets elected. Fuck 'em all. I just want it to be over.

At this moment, I'm watching the first so-called presidential debate. Since when is saying "ninner-nanner, ninner-nanner" over and over the same as debate?

Precisely. It's all just drivel. Binky and Bumpy haven't the first idea how to solve the problems facing the world. Nobody does - if they did, the problems would be solved by now.
No Presidential candidate, at least in the modern era - has had the faintest idea, going in to the election, what to do with the big issues. All they do is focus on making the right noises so they can get their hands on the prize, and they figure they can wing it after they've got their feet under the desk in the Oval Office.

WE have plenty of ideas to solve the problems facing the world. But too many different ones, and nobody trusted/ powerful enough to ram a reasonable one through.

We may have plenty of ideas, and many of them are eminently sensible, but would any of them actually work?
