Apart from a momentary aberration involving a too-tempting news photo, I've tried to stay out of commenting on the US elections because I'm entirely sick of the whole distasteful circus. But that doesn't mean I haven't been reading about it, because I'm a journalist and that's what I do, and I'd like to point everyone at davidjwilliams's place, where Dave has been quietly, calmly, and with much good sense, anatomising the latter days of the campaign. I should have bigged him up earlier, and for that I apologise, but he's been a level head in this lunacy and for that I thank him.

What are your feelings about the way climate change may truncate the life of my daughter Jane and her chap Ian, not to mention all the people younger than they are?

I have, oddly, strong feelings on this issue.

Which of the two candidates do you prefer on the issue of climate change?

Alternatively, don't vote at all. I don't care. Binky and Bumpy can't help me. We've got rain coming through our roof, the washing machine is emptying into the shower, the band of cowboys who did this to us are refusing to talk to us, one of our cats may be dying slowly, the flat still looks like a refugee camp, I can't remember the last time I had a decent night's sleep, and I burst into tears watching Close Encounters this evening. Go and look at Dave's LJ, he's better at this stuff than I am.
