You know how you watch prOn and you're really enjoying the story, and then all of a sudden they go and spoil it all by having sex? This is for you, made by James Gunn (writer and director of Slither) in the spirit of Doctor Horrible and starring...well, I'll let that be a surprise. Have fun!

Fun stuff -- thanks -- but:

"I'll let that be a surprise."

Which of the two stars is supposed to surprise me by their presence? I've never heard of either of them.

Just to clue Thog in, the bloke is the mighty Nathan Fillion, star of Firefly, Serenity, Slither and numerous other productions, including Doctor Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog, which I mentioned some time ago.
The young lady? Dunno. Really.

Nathan Fillion is Irish, is he not? I detect a slight accent sometimes.

To my knowledge, Captain Tightpants is Canadian. And his people have been in North America a while; apparently an ancestor of his named Jubal Early fought in the Civil War.

Jubal Early is a great name for a fictive character, isn't it?

Hollywood PR, it's always BS. I read a couple of years ago that the actor was from Ireland. Captain Tightpants, yes. Good moniker.

I think Zoe calls Mal `Captain Tightpants' in an episode of Firefly, and the name just stuck - to the extent that someone calls Fillion's character the same thing in White Noise 2.
He apparently has French-Canadian and Irish ancestry, but he was born in Alberta.
Jubal Early's a great name, isn't it? It turns up, apparently, in Mark Danielewski's follow-up to House Of Leaves.

Actually, he needs to stay in more. About twenty hours would do it, I'd guess, with the Firefly box set, Serenity, Slither, and whatever examples of Ms Giovanni's work he felt he needed to consult for research.

Sounds like a fun weekend, at least the Slither part. I haven't seen Serenity yet.

Slither was funny. But then, I'm a die hard campy horror freak.

Serenity's great. I never get tired of watching that film.
I loved Slither.
