You know how you watch prOn and you're really enjoying the story, and then all of a sudden they go and spoil it all by having sex? This is for you, made by James Gunn (writer and director of Slither) in the spirit of Doctor Horrible and starring...well, I'll let that be a surprise. Have fun!

To my knowledge, Captain Tightpants is Canadian. And his people have been in North America a while; apparently an ancestor of his named Jubal Early fought in the Civil War.

Jubal Early is a great name for a fictive character, isn't it?

Hollywood PR, it's always BS. I read a couple of years ago that the actor was from Ireland. Captain Tightpants, yes. Good moniker.

I think Zoe calls Mal `Captain Tightpants' in an episode of Firefly, and the name just stuck - to the extent that someone calls Fillion's character the same thing in White Noise 2.
He apparently has French-Canadian and Irish ancestry, but he was born in Alberta.
Jubal Early's a great name, isn't it? It turns up, apparently, in Mark Danielewski's follow-up to House Of Leaves.

I looked at it in a bookshop earlier this year, or maybe late last year - it was still in hardback so a bit expensive for me, and it looked as though the characters get alternating pages, some of which seem to run front to back, others from back to front. It looks like work.

Someone told me it reads like a tone poem.

It'll be hard work for me, then; I'm tone deaf.
