...and, with exquisite timing, the Crown Prosecution Service has decided that Damian Green, the Tory MP whose Westminster office, you'll remember, were raided by Special Branch and who was arrested last year, will not face prosecution.
This has not been a terribly good week for the Government. The senior officer in charge of the Green inquiry was Bob Quick, head of the anti-terrorism unit at Scotland Yard, who following the raid accused the Tories of smearing him, then retracted the allegations. And a couple of days before the `emailgate' thing broke, he was forced to resign after inadvertently revealing details of a major anti-terror operation.
