teh internets

I've mentioned, here and there, how impressed I've been with the sheer amount and obscurity of stuff that you can find posted on the internet, but the Guardian has just posted the 50 greatest YouTube videos currently available.
This includes Billie Holliday singing the heartbreaking `Strange Fruit,' Marlon Brando's screen test for Rebel Without A Cause, Kurt Russell's audition for Han Solo, and Kerouac reading from On The Road (surely the `baseline') performance.
Short of a catastrophe, this stuff - and much, much more - will never go away now it's online. And I for one think that's marvellous. What an extraordinary world we live in.
