things you can do with the internet

Okay, I admit it. I've been living a secret double life. I'm on Facebook, as some of you know already. I wasn't going to get involved in the damn thing, particularly after my encounter with MySpace (I still have a page, and it still scares me) but a year or so ago a friend of ours who retired to France was invited to join by her nephew as a means of keeping in touch and once she'd joined she decided to invite her eddress book to join as well. So I got an invite, and I thought, "why not?"
Anyway, I've barely touched the thing since then. marlowe1 tracked me down a while ago, and after he did I sort of poked and prodded it for a while, then I forgot about it. But a couple of months ago I came across the bookmark and decided to poke and prod it some more, and now I have friends and stuff, and I still don't know what it's for. LJ suits me very well indeed; it lets me mumble and ramble to my heart's content, and I feel part of a real community the way I can't imagine feeling on Facebook. I'm going to give Facebook a chance and see what I can do with it, but really you know I just like sitting here in the villages and babbling, and I'm not going to stop doing that any time soon.
