This is Raz, a baby Aye Aye who has just been born at Bristol Zoo.

The Aye Aye is, of course, the presiding spirit of the villages, and they're outlandishly endangered. I read somewhere there may be only about a thousand of them left in the wild, mostly in Madagascar.
Welcome, Raz. It's a tough old world.

Take It from Here was on the Home Service (later known as Radio 4) and starred Jimmy Edwards, Dick Bentley and, I think, June Whitfield. I used to listen to it as a kid, and then through into my teens. I've heard occasional reruns of it since.

The first half of each broadcast was not dissimilar to a Round the Horne "magazine"-style format; the second half always was a new slice of life centred on a family called The Glums -- Edwards as Dad, Whitfield (I think) as daughter Eth, and Bentley as her ever-in-attendance swain Ron. Mrs Glum was never voiced at all, but represented only by an occasional sound of carpet slippers on lino shuffling rapidly away in panic.

Yep, I know what you mean now. I know I never heard it because I never heard The Glums.
Round The Horne, though, now you're talking...
