We finally sold all those books bar about three copies of SP2. Took us about three cons to do it, though.

We didn't actually have any copies then. We got some later. Sold 'em all. *score!*

Actually, after - what was it? five hours? seven hours? half my life? - marching you around London, I was not at my best, I will admit.

I'm going to have to assume that you were referring to our visit in 06 which was a bizarre delight. However, I should inform you that the previous emails were not mine.

Helas, je ne parle pas LOLcats.

You, my friend, must have another anonymous friend.

"y no buy mi buks?"

I suppose the real answer to the question is "Because the buks stop here" . . .

Well, some of them did. That was NovaCon a couple of years ago - I think the one after the Glasgow EasterCon. Bogna made the flyers.

How could I not notice? Pshaw.
Okay, you asked for it. *sets modesty aside* The books on the table are, from left to right, Strange Pleasures 3, edited by me and packed with very good fiction; Strange Pleasures 2, edited by me and Thog and packed with very good fiction; As The Crow Flies, written by me and packed with fiction of enormously varying quality and some outstanding illustrations; and more SP3. The book the (still sadly-LJless) OJM alluded to is my novel, The Villages, which sort of ambles along.

They're all science fiction or fantasy to greater or lesser degrees, but let's face it, where the rubber meets the road it's all fiction.

Actually, I do Thog a very great disservice. He did all the heavy lifting on SP2. Pretty much all I did was watch and learn.

Don't listen to him, anybody. I can't begin to tell you what a shock it was when I came to do SP3 on my own and I realised just how much Thog did.

And while you're at it, search for his books from his wunderkind days:
Torn Air, Thumbprints, Fool's Good, and the Paradise Equation. They were all written and published before he was 21. Each story is a delight start to finish.

PS Hutch, it wasn't me who mentioned your novel, the Villages, but thanks for thinking of me.

Well, it shouldn't be too hard to work out who it was; we sold so few of the damn things, I think I have the addresses of everyone who bought one. I wrote them down on the back of an envelope somewhere...

I bought them online a few years ago since I couldn't afford them at the time of publication. They were bargain priced, but the shipping was astronomical. I didn't think penguins could read English.

I was talking about The Villages, actually. The early collections actually sold pretty well - mostly to libraries. I have no complaints about them at all, oh no.
