This is Selexys Dominicanen.

It's a bookshop in Maastricht housed in a 13th Century Dominican church.

I think, after The Vortex Of The Weird (TM), it may be the loveliest bookshop in the world.

But I bet they still get people coming in with Liquid Skin all over them...

I lived in Oxford for a couple of years and never visited the main hall of the Bod. I did, however, at one stage spend a happy few hours in one of their basements going through a folio of original drawings by Michelangelo. I was terrified I might sneeze! In truth, it was an awe-inspiring experience: the great man had held in his hands these very same sheets of paper I was holding in mine . . .

Years ago, on the French exchange thing I mentioned, the family of the French student I was staying with took me on a visit to the chateaux on the Loire. At Amboise we went into a chapel and his father pointed at a slab in the floor and said, "Da Vinci." Which was, apparently, where he was buried. That did make me feel rather strange.
