Well, Ben Nevis is in that well known part of England called North Britain...
And Cairns are simply handy places to stuff the rubbish from your lunch when you eat at the top of the hill. Of course only stupid people do that, but there seem to be quite a few of them around, although I get the impression there are either fewer than there used to be, or more people are clearing up the rubbish, because I havn't seen much on the summits in the past decade.

Thank you for explaining that! And do forgive my last remark 00 it was tongue in cheek, as my husband is English. I'm glad that the rubbish amount is going down. THAT"s encouraging!
